Fleetwood Water Polo
Fleetwood and District Water Polo Team was established in 2001 by a group
of ex-swimmers who fancied a change from ploughing up and down the pool, since
then the team has grown into one of the most competitive clubs in the area with
an excellent team ethic and has a vibrant junior team.
The squad operates both a senior and junior team. The squad is managed to a competitive
standard but there is an emphasis on both the fun and social elements of team
sports.
The senior
team is coached by James Myers and participates in the North Lancs Water Polo
league, along with cup competitions around the country. The team entered in North Lancs league is
open to males over 16.
The junior team is coached by Steve Brown and plays friendly
matches against other junior team around the North West. The junior team is open to both boys and
girls from 8 – 16.
Both coaches hold water polo coaching qualifications and are
current players within the senior team.
Training sessions are held at Fleetwood Leisure Centre on
Thursday from 19:30 until 21:00, open to both males and females. If you want to give Water Polo a try all you
don’t need any experience, all you need to be is a good swimmer. If you have any queries please come and see
James or Steve on a Thursday night, new members are always welcomed.
