About Us

Fleetwood and District A.S.C was formed in 1974 to provide organised water time for local youngsters to learn and improve their swimming skills with a view to swimming competitively. In addition, the facilities were made available for other sections in the club to flourish so that all water based activities could be made available to the local community. These include masters swimming, life saving, disabled swimming and water polo. Competitvely, the club quickly developed and by 1979 the first National Age Group Championship successes were achieved. Thereafter, the honours continued with an Olympic swimmer being cosen from the club, a Commonwalth gold medalist and successes at National Youth Squad level. More recently, The Micro League A team reached the National Finals for three consecutive years from 1998 to 2000 and the Regional finals in 2001 and 2002. The club continues to compete at the highest levels Nationally and locally in team and individual competitions. In addition the club also competes both Nationally and locally in BI/Triathlon competitions. The club is always very busy and has a strong sense of family and has enthusiastic Coaches/Helpers and Committee members.
